But first, I was born and reared in Hapeville, GA - home of the Chick-fil-A and the Atlanta airport. I graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Accounting, where I met my future husband, Don. We got married and lived in Memphis, Atlanta and Tallahassee before winding up in Boone so Don could teach at Appalachian State University. During that 15 year span, I worked in internal and computer auditing in the banking industry and for the State of Florida. We also managed to have 2 children; Karen, now 15, and William, now 11. My career took a different turn once we moved to Western North Carolina. After a stint as a stay-at-home mom and active volunteer, I utilized my organizational and communication skills as the Executive Director of the High Country United Way for three years. In this capacity I helped to coordinate the fundraising and support efforts for the 22 local agencies affiliated with the HCUW and had the opportunity to interact with many people in the community. This experience proved to be an excellent springboard into my Western North Carolina real estate career. The many contacts and friends I have made through my affiliations with the United Way, Boone United Methodist Church, ASU Women's Club, Blowing Rock Elementary School and PTO, and Boone Service League have helped me to be a successful Western North Carolina Realtor. Plus, Coldwell Banker Blair & Associates has been a professional and fun place to work. My background has given me experience in effectively marketing properties for those interested in selling and in assisting buyers to find that perfect Western North Carolina year-round or seasonal home or profitable investment property. I very much enjoy the chance to meet new people and to assist them with their real estate needs. I also enjoy helping those new to the area learn more about the joys of living in this beautiful Western North Carolina region.
